SOLSTICE SPECIAL
Kundalini Yoga & Gong Bath
Solstice is the time when the sun reaches its maximum or minimum declination. Two solstices occur annually – summer solstice and winter solstice, marking the longest and shortest days of the year. The winter solstice marks the shortest day and the longest night of the year, inviting us to reflect on its profound significance and to go within. The winter solstice is the official start of winter.
In winter everything lies dormant in the silent earth, it is a sacred time of rest and reflection before the awakening and the slow build toward brighter days.
When we fear our own darkness, we cut ourselves off from an essential source of our own personal power. The key is not in letting darkness overwhelm our lives and our thoughts but in understanding that darkness can be one of the greatest catalysts for personal growth and transformation.
Winter Solstice is the great stillness before the Sun's strength builds, and days grow longer. It is a time to rest and reflect.
After experiencing the longest night and darkest day, the nights grow shorter and the days grow brighter until the Summer Solstice.
In this workshop we will release fear and anxieties to help you regain power followed by a meditation to aid the process of self-evaluation to allow change to enter with ease. We will shift the energies inside you to move through energy blocks and release what doesn't serve you any longer. This will free you up for change and new beginnings.
Furthermore the gong is especially good for shifting stuck emotions and can snap you right out of old patterns as it produces a much deeper, more powerful sound than other instruments. The deep sounds of the gong naturally help you to arrive into a state of relaxation and meditation. A gong bath gives you the opportunity to immerse much deeper into the world of vibrations.
Gongs have been used as shamanic healing tools, celebratory instruments, and a method of communication for thousands of years.
Gong baths allow your brain to relax into alpha-dominant and theta-dominant brain wave states. These are restorative states which allow your brain to store and process the events and experiences of a day. Alpha brainwaves are associated with creativity and feelings of relaxation. This state is followed by an influx of theta waves. Theta waves are associated with deep meditation, hypnosis, and REM sleep. The sounds from the gong can be very loud. The best way to embrace the gong is to surrender, relax, and let go. The gong is your guide and you will ride the waves of the sound current to a deep relaxing state.
